Each year, diaTribe hosts the Lightning Talks, a virtual event that brings leading researchers, advocates, and health professionals together to educating people and raise awareness around diabetes stigma.
In 2020, diaTribe welcomed Rebecca Puhl, the director of the Rudd Center for Food Policy at UConn and a renowned expert on obesity stigma and other disease stigmas. In her talk, The Harmful Impacts of Disease Stigma: Lessons from Obesity Research, Puhl explored the impacts of disease stigma and what can be done to address it.
